Men's Firstep is located on 12 scenic acres on the west side of Lake Stanley Draper. The grounds are kept in a pristine condition at all times. Those who live here would have it no other way.
In addition to our emphasis on a 12-Step program, each client is assured church privileges on Sunday. Spirituality and responsibility are two cornerstones of our program. The men's program was established in 1987. It has proven itself over and over as a vehicle to recovery for those who want to get clean and sober.
FIRSTEP is a 12-step oriented program. There are meetings every night, either in-house or outside meetings.
FIRSTEP offers an opportunity for individualized treatment planning, group therapy, one-on-one counseling as needed, relapse prevention and life skills programs, all of which are provided by a contracted, state-certified substance abuse treatment facility.
Clients are expected to follow rules and regulations, work, do assigned duties, and attend all assigned meetings.
FIRSTEP has no charges or fees for clients. Your willingness to work and your desire to become a responsible sober person will pay your way.
We provide an opportunity for clients to visit with counselors and other personnel, helping to ensure the client receives a positive foundation for recovery.
As previously stated, Sunday is a day off for clients. Families are invited to visit from 12 to 5 p.m. on the grounds. In fact, families are encouraged to participate in Sunday afternoon activities.
